Capital Region Housing has partnered with the Edmonton
Police Service in the Crime Free Multi Housing Program.
The program is designed to make our Apartment and Townhouse
complexes a more secure and safe environment for occupants. This
program also ensures that our sites are a safe and welcomed part of
the communities in which they exist.
The program involves several components which help to achieve
the above goals.
- Safety features built into the door and window systems of each
home.
- Landscaping design including fencing and shrubbery allows for
natural surveillance at all times of the year.
- Adequate area lighting both on the grounds and the buildings
promote a safe nighttime environment.
- Annual reviews conducted by the Edmonton Police Service ensure
that CRH is maintaining the set standards of the program for its
clients. This keeps us accountable to you.
- Safety Socials are held every two years; these safety socials
are intended to keep people up to date with the program and allow
neighbours to get acquainted or re-acquainted.
Although the Crime Free Multi Housing Program is an Edmonton
Police Program, Capital Region Housing has made a commitment
to ensure all of our properties comply with the strict standards of
the program. In an effort to enhance this program's requirements we
have contracted after hour security personnel to patrol our sites
as an additional safety measure. GardaWorld Protective Services is
available to our clients by calling (780) 420-6161 after 6pm each
day until 8am each morning for non-emergency calls such as noise
complaints, trouble with neighbour issues, etc. Clients may call
for after hours emergency maintenance services when needed by
calling (780) 420-6161 after 6 pm weekdays and weekends for
emergency maintenance services.
