Capital Region Housing Foundation

The Foundation is a not-for-profit company incorporated under the Companies Act of Alberta in 2000. The company became a registered charity on September 19, 2002 (Registration Number 88931 2815 RR0001).

Shareholders

The Shareholders of the Foundation are:

• Captial Region Housing Corporation
• CTD Housing Solutions Edmonton LTD.

Objectives of the Foundation

The objectives of the Foundation as identified in it's incorporating documents are:

• to identify housing needs of low income households in the Edmonton region;
• to design, finance, construct, hold, manage, maintain and operate housing for low income households;
• to seek out new resources and funding to meet the housing needs of low income households;
• to develop housing projects and/or programs to meet the housing needs of low income households;
• to promote co-operation, partnerships and initiatives between community agencies, the private sector and governments to improve access to housing for low income households;
• to receive, purchase, transfer, sell or dispose of any real or personal property necessary to attaining the objects of the Company;
• to do or cease to be done all such things as are incidental and ancillary to attainment of the foregoing objects.

Current Activities of the Foundation

The Foundation currently has the following initiatives underway:

• Hackers Fore Housing Charity Golf Tournament
  This annual fund-raising event began in 2003. The proceeds from this event are used in support of the The HOME Program.
